20 February 2009
1am of 20 February, I walked the halls of the hotel back to our room. We just had a little party (with junkfoods again) in sisters Joy and Djoanne’s room, and realizing it was already late, we called it a night. Gigi said we had to be in Saint Joseph’s School by 7AM, so we have to leave as early as possible or else we’ll be sorry.
Waking up wasn’t that difficult for me, guess I was way too excited. This day there will be three sets of tours - a postcard tour (different landmarks in Cebu City), a visit to the Prison, and a pilgrimage tour (which will cover most churches in Cebu City). It’s a common practice for my brother and I to visit churches in places we go to, so when we heard about the tours, we chose the pilgrimage tour right away. Most of our SFC siblings chose the postcard tour, but brother and I were happy that our sisters Gigi and Shae chose the pilgrimage tour and we will be in the same van.
When we got to the school, it was quite hectic in the sense that it was basically the opening of Singles for Christ International Conference. Conference kits were given that time, and because of that, most of the delegates went to the school direct from the airport (some were tugging their strollers along). By 8 or so in the morning, we went on with the tour.
There will be about 12 stops, and the first place to visit was the Asilo dela Milagrosa Church. I wasn’t able to get enough information about the church, so I will just post pictures.

The facade. I don’t know if it was lack of sleep or excitement (or both), but I was really quite angry at myself for not being able to take a nice facade shot. I was able to take three, but all of them were cut at the top? Oh Jenn…

The church’s interiors.

The altar up-close.

The balcony.

Amen.
So many stops, very limited time. After about 15 minutes of taking pictures and saying a prayer, we all went back to the van to continue with the tours.

Thanks all for the comments! :)
Hello
I am organizing a group for Asilo dela Milagrosa students on facebook and was wondering if I can use any of your photos of the church.
I am a former student of the school and would love to organize a group of my batch mates so we can plan for a reunion. It has been almost 20 years since we graduated from the school. And since we don't have a a lot of pictures of the school, I would love to have your photos in our facebook group
Thank you,
Maria
