Araneta Center, Cubao, Quezon City
22 June 2009
After eating at the canteen of SSS East Avenue, my sister and I went to Gateway Mall in Cubao, Quezon City. Actually, she left me there as she would get some things in her school, which was walking distance away from the mall. I told her I'd just be at the Mandarin Oasis to take some pictures, after all, I am doing a photo hunt, and I might just see some things there.
The Mandarin Oasis is located in the middle of Gateway Mall, and is actually a cafe and deli shop of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Near the entrance, people in the mall can actually stay near the koi pond, but of course, only those who will eat can enter by the bridge. Since I am not eating, I just content myself taking pictures.

Flowing water. Watching the koi fishes tend to soothe one's wearies and stresses.

White one spotted. I have a friend who just loves the white koi from this pond, and when I saw it, I instantly remembered her.

Guardians of the pond. I am guessing these statuettes represent the Chinese culture of the place.
When my sister arrived, she told me she saw a place where I could take "something from the top," which was one of the items I needed to hunt. She guided the way to the top floor, where we entered an art gallery and presented me this view:

Araneta Center. The building on the left side is the Araneta Coliseum, the only covered coliseum, as far as I know. This building is where a lot of concerts and different kinds of events were staged.
Feeling it was still early for us to go home, we decided to walk to the MRT station to get tickets to Taft Avenue. Sister and I were going to the SM Mall of Asia, and I would share that story on the next post.

Very nice, different scenery from the rest. The sky made the big city much calmer.
