July is the month when the Singles for Christ do their Metro Manila Conference, and through my brother (who has been in the community for many years before I joined), I have learned that whenever the MMC is coming up, the venue will always be somewhere in Luzon, but not within Luzon. For this year, the conference was held in Baguio City, Benguet. I was happy that I was able to take part of this conference, but a bit sad, too, because brother wasn't able to join. Still, he was very kind enough to come with me to the meeting place because we were bound to leave around midnight.

Andre and I decided to be seatmates. Through Roel's help, we were able to rent a bus that would be our "official bus" for the entire conference. We left the chapel grounds a little past 12mn, and although all of us were like a bunch of kids having a field trip - laughing, sharing stories and junk foods - most of us (including me) still took the time to catch on some much needed rest. I have been doing some overnight traveling for some time, and although I was able to sleep, I still woke up from time to time because the TV was on and some of us just couldn't sleep that they just talk to each other.

PhotoStory Friday

There was only one stop during the whole trip, and it was in Pangasinan around 5am. We stopped at a food place to eat some early breakfast. I went for a rice congee with egg, while some opted for the rice congee with chicken (arroz caldo). The skies has started changing colors, and it was really a blessing to see a purplish/pink skies, my favorite. After we were done with our eating, it was time to hit the road again.

I knew it would only take a few more hours before we reach Baguio City, so I decided not to sleep anymore. It was great to see this particular spot during sunrise - this was our (my sister and I) favorite spot whenever we travel to La Union because this is where the provinces of La Union and Pangasinan breaks up. I was thankful to be seated on the window side of the bus!

We arrived in Baguio City around 8am. We were booked at the Brentwood Village, and because the conference will start come dinner of this day, we basically had the entire day time to do all the roaming we could do. As soon as we dropped off our luggage, we fixed ourselves quickly and went back to bus. We were planning to go to the Lourdes Grotto and Mines View Park, but the story of our stroll will be shared tomorrow. :)
