Quezon Avenue, Quezon City

Little chats at the forum I am a member of prompted us to do a photo walk this day. Our meeting place is at the grounds of the Lung Center of the Philippines, which has a weekend market every Sundays (as of this writing the weekend market is now transferred to a different location). I figured this would be a good place for us to meet up because there are quite a lot of subjects to take pictures of and it would also be a good place for us to have something to eat as well.

Bopis. I arrived earlier than my friends Nathalie and Woody, and since I didn't eat breakfast yet, I decided to order some cooked foods. This exotic dish is called "bopis," and is made up of pig's internals... not a good choice for breakfast in general as this is very high in cholesterol, but I seldom eat this dish, so when I saw it, I quickly ordered it.

Grilled Tuna. The weekend market has lots of stalls devoted to all things food, and one that always wow me is this stall that sells grilled tuna.

My friends are still not around, so I decided to roam around and take pictures. This is my favorite weekend market and whenever I am here, I always take my time at their plants section. The stall owners didn't mind people taking pictures of the plants/flowers they are selling, so with utmost caution (of course I didn't want to accidentally destroy any of the plants), I took pictures after pictures and these three are my favorites:

Bee on Amaryllis. Yeah, I know the bee was a bit blurred - quite difficult to use a basic point and shoot camera and that this part of the market didn't have much lighting from the sun (as there were tarps to provide shade to the guests, but I sure had a great time chasing the bee. :)

Yellow Stargazer. One of the flowers I loved that day - it was just so bright and fresh!
This weekend market has about anything you might need to buy - food, plants/trees/flowers, clothes, footwear, bags, even housewares... but there is still something I enjoy seeing at the market and that's the pets/animals.

Koi. Nobody is allowed to touch the water, but the kids at the market just can't help but dip their hands in the water.

Puppy. Aside from puppies, there are also cats for sale, but most pets have their own papers and vaccination records.

Birdie. They seem to go away whenever my camera gets near the cage, but this one's very friendly.
Like I said, the weekend market has been relocated, so if you want to eat, buy things, or maybe just take pictures, it is now located at the Eton Centris Walk - Quezon Avenue cor. EDSA in Quezon City.
