I know I am way behind on my travel stories... and I am now about to add more back logs as I will be traveling tomorrow to Cebu tomorrow. I don't know how long my stay will be, but from Cebu, we (I will be with mom and her friends at work) will be crossing over to Bohol before traveling back to Manila.

Manuel Quezon Memorial Shrine

Built in memoriam for the former Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon, the shrine stand at 66 feet, making it the tallest structure in the city. The shrine has three pylons that symbolizes "birth, life, and death," and has three angels at the top which symbolizes the country's main islands / group of islands - Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

One part of the museum occupied memoirs of the former President - including pictures, home decors, personal items - including the bed he used when he was hospitalized.

The other side of the museum - the center of the shrine - houses former President Quezon's remains, as well as the remains of his wife.
Quezon Memorial Circle

One of the things that I loved to do in 2010 was doing photowalks with my friend Nathalie. Mid-September, we decided to check the changes in the Quezon Memorial Circle; but before I showcase the great changes in the park, I'd like to talk about the main attraction of the park - the Quezon Memorial Shrine.

At the base of the shrine was a door that leads to the museum....

There are no definite entrance fees to pay - people can come and visit the museum "freely," although visitors can leave some monetary donation to help with the upkeep of the museum.

July and August of 2010 was a lax time for me as a traveler, but I did get to exercise the foodie side of me, and here's the set of food trips for this month... if you want to read more, please click the links - it will direct you to my food blog, I Live to Eat!

Panciteria Lido
SM City Fairview, Quezon City
04 August 2010
Where family ate dinner because it was sister's day off! Our first time to dine at Panciteria Lido, and even if we weren't able to taste their signature dish, we were able to try their Braised Tofu in Hotpot and Chami Special, both of which were so delicious!

Crepes and Cream
SM City Fairview, Quezon City
04 August 2010
Right after our dinner at Panciteria Lido, we went to Crepes and Cream to have our "heavy" dessert at Crepes and Cream because mom had the "2 crepes + 1 free" coupon. I had the Cappuchoco.

Ted's Oldtimer La Paz Batchoy
SM City Fairview, Quezon City
28 August 2010
Brother was in Cagayan de Oro, sister was at work, so it was just mom and I doing the grocery and eating out. We were supposed to eat at Chowking, but we passed by Ted's Batchoy and ate there instead. Mon had their rice meal, while I had their Extra Super Meke. I gave mom the liver slices, but the rest I ate. Namit jud kaayo! Wait, is that how Illongos say it?

After attending a birthday party, the family passed by this Ice Cream House for some desserts. I had the Brownie ala Mode and the Black Forest Chill.

Greenwich (Tungko)
San Jose del Monte, Bulacan

San Jose del Monte, Bulacan
14 July 2010
Sister and I went on a pasta-pizza binge when an electric interruption made us go out of the house a find a place (with air conditioning) where we could eat lunch. We had 2 slices each of their Angus Maximus overload pizza (the half we took home) and had a serving each of their pasta.

Taipan Grill
SM City Fairview, Quezon City
25 July 2010
Brother still hasn't tasted foods at Taipan Grill, so when the family did the grocery shopping, we decided to have a little foodie side trip here. This serving of grilled tilapia was mom's choice.

I admit I am not updating this blog much... not that I don't have any more stories to share; I actually have a lot of backlogs because I started sharing 2009 travels when I opened this blog in 2010 (a year behind), it's just that it was quite difficult to manage time and edit the pictures. Good news is that, starting tomorrow, I will update this blog everyday until 25 August because I will be going on an out of town trip. More travel moments to experience, so least I can do is cut down on the backlogs. :)
