On my last post, I shared with you guys images from Thunderbird Resorts in San Fernando, La Union. Yes, I do love how the resort looks, but apart from the resort, there is one much important reason why I try to go there whenever I am vacationing in La Union:

The view of the West Philippine Sea at the Boardwalk.

I won't go all text-y with this post... I will just let the pictures speak for themselves.

Best time to visit the area was during late afternoon where you can stay 'til sundown. Just be careful, though... there might be some twigs with thorns (as pictured above) scattered on the ground, you don't want to injure yourself like what happened to my foot. Ouch!

For it to look a bit like Santorini in Greece, the Thunderbird Resorts in Poro Point - San Fernando, La Union have attracted lots of tourists, some even choose this resort as their place to celebrate life events, especially weddings. When I told Ria that this resort is actually open to people to visit (but of course, just within the grounds), she asked if we could include it in our itinerary, and of course who am I to turn down a request like that, I want to visit the resort again anyway.

Former post about the resort can be read HERE, for this post, allow me to share new pictures:

Approaching the Lobby. From the gate, one still had to drive (or walk) a few meters before reaching the main building.

View From Above. At the balcony, one can see the pool area and the West Philippine Sea from afar.

Massage Area. Not really sure, but I heard the security guard mentioning about this area where in house guests can get their massage - with the great view of the sea. I took this at the boardwalk.

Dining Area. Back at the balcony, they have two food places, both will give you a view of the sea.

Sunset Watching. This is my favorite thing to do whenever I visit this place: sunset watching. It's a great way to end the day.

There are two ways to get there in case you don't have your own ride: by jeepney or tricycle. The jeepney is much cheaper, but do know that if you want to use the jeepney back to the heart of the city, please be at the jeepney stop before 6pm, otherwise you will need to take the tricycle, which is 3 times more expensive than the jeepney fare.
